Brenda S. Wright

Brenda S. Wright, age 80, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1945, in Canton, Georgia, to the late Oscar and Louise Sims.
Brenda had a deep love for children and devoted many years to teaching before retiring from Little Peoples Corner Day Care Center. She was a devoted mother who was always present in her children's lives, whether volunteering with the PTA or serving as the neighborhood "taxi" for countless children. She enjoyed baking and over the years lovingly made many wedding cakes for friends and family.
A lifelong member of Antioch Christian Church, Brenda was active in the youth program for many years. She also served on the Board at Camp Dream and was a member of the Optimist Club.
Above all, Brenda cherished her family. She was a loving, selfless woman whose kindness and dedication touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Daphne Wright and brother, Wayne Sims.
Brenda is survived by her husband of over 62 years, James Wright; children, Tony Wright (Anita), Tommy Wright and Jenny Nicholson (Daniel); four grandchildren, Tiffany Wright (Garrett Crowe), Savannah Davis (Cecil), Sarah Nicholson and Cameron Cook (Jennifer); nine great-grandchildren, TJ Davis, Brantley Davis, Cecil Joe Davis, Deagan Crowe, Emerson Crowe, Everlee Crowe, Ella Cook, Amelia Cook and Scarlett Cook; sister, Joann Conner; brother, Lane Sims (Terri); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken May officiating. Interment will follow in Big Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 6th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 7th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
