Brenda Brooks Wyatt, 82, of Opelika, AL passed away early Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am CST / 11:00 am EST on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 pm CST / 6:00 – 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home in Phenix City. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Busby, Jim Busby, Dillon Busby, Dusty McConnell, Randy Magee, and Calvin Wallace.
Mrs. Wyatt was born September 22, 1943, in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Jim Brooks and Vonnie Foxworth Brooks. She had served as an administrative assistant for Auburn University for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in LaGrange, GA and a member of the Red Hatters. She enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling to her favorite destinations in the state of Alabama, cooking, family reunions with dinner on the ground, and spending quality time with all her family, and especially her grandchildren, she was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John Michael Wyatt, a daughter, Chancey Senn, two sisters, Peggy Tovey and Chris Brooks, and two brothers, Bobby Brooks and Billy Brooks
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Busby and husband Gary Murray of Opelika, AL, and Jessie McConnell and husband Doug McConnell of Opelika, AL, son in law, Wayne Senn of Opelika, AL; seven grandchildren, Robert Busby (Ashley), Jim Busby (Lindsey), Dillon Busby, Megan Gooden (Josh), Dusty McConnell (Logan), Jonathan Senn, and Braxton Senn; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
