Brenda Zink Obituary

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late James Victor Hash, Jr., and the late Dora Jane (Surber) Hash.
Brenda was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1981. She grew up working on the family dairy farm milking cows with her father. Most knew her from working for over 20 years in the seafood department at Ferguson and Hassler Supermarket. Most recently, Brenda was employed by Solanco School District, working in cafeterias in several schools in the district.
People were important to Brenda. She was very helpful, always stopping what she was doing to help someone and she always took the time to stop and talk. Brenda was a social person and rarely ever got upset. She loved her family and her sisters, she was a loving and caring mother, and she adored being a grandmother. Making sure that Sunday breakfast took place was of top priority. Brenda was the glue that held her family together. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kelly Jane Zink, of Drumore, a granddaughter, Colsyn Jayene Suezanna Zink, sisters, Vicki (Herb) Groff, of New Providence, and Margi (Scott) Herr, of East Petersburg. She is also survived by a bonus "adopted" daughter, Madeline Goté, and her son, Johnathan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a cousin, Harry Martin, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 15, at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West 4th Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, with Pastor Blake Deibler officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing at the funeral home from 5:30 PM – 7 PM. Interment will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16, at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Road, Lancaster, PA 17603.
