Brent Bartels Obituary
After graduating from The Ohio State University, he served his country in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. He then went on to complete his MBA at Bowling Green State University. In 1977, Brent moved to the Chicago area where he married his beloved wife Melanie in 1982.
Brent enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, playing video poker at casinos, and cheering for his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
Brent is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melanie; son, Steven (Kelly) Bartels and his sister-in-law Marilyn Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday December 10 at St. Anne Catholic Church, of Barrington, Illinois.
Visitation in Holgate, Ohio will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Snyder-Hoening Funeral Home (209 N. Wilhelm St.) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services following immediately after. Pastor Jeff McCarn will be officiating. Burial will be held at St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery in Holgate, Ohio.
Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, I-946 St. Route 108, Holgate, OH 43527.
