Mr. Brent Edward Craig age 51, of Sarasota, Florida passed away surrounded by family on November 29, 2021 from complications of kidney disease.
Brent was born in Natchitoches, LA. on September 18, 1970, to Lloyd H. Craig and Kayla Pardue Craig. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Eula and Elmer Craig and Roy Pardue. Brent attended Captain Shreve High and studied Architecture at Louisiana Tech University.
In addition to his parents’ survivors include his sons; Camden and Dillon Craig, brothers; Kevin (Monica) Craig and Corey (Megan) Craig, sister; Amber (Ted) Pratt, paternal grandmother; Benena Pardue, five nephews and five nieces.
Brent was a second generation builder with a lifelong career in the construction Industry having learned nearly every trade including, sales, excavation, Sr. Project Management, purchasing and ultimately in 2007 founding Rigid Development Co. A Nashville TN based urban-infill redevelopment company which help trailblaze the infill movement that’s prominent in Nashville today. Many members of the Rigid team cut their teeth with Brent and are still leading the way for Nashville’s infill redevelopment.
Brent was passionate about giving back to the community and those in need. Brent Co-founded The Community Hope Center. Community Hope Center was a non-profit dedicated to helping those in need both locally and around the world. Brent dedicated his resources, energies and financial support to the communities and people who needed it the most. Community Hope Center also provided funding and participated in digging wells in Cambodia and Africa as well as sponsoring a feeding program in Bolivia.
Brent was known for his “Big” personality and intensity in all things whether an early morning workout routine, long bike ride, prep for a triathlon, laps around the racetrack, sighting in a new rifle or managing a jobsite. Brent pushed limits and did not see obstacles. Brent was a devoted father, dog lover and avid offshore fisherman! His intellect, determination to succeed and wit will be forever missed!
Visitation with the family will begin on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with services to be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:00 am. All services will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
