Brent Allen Hollingsworth

Brent Allen Hollingsworth, 47, passed away on July 23, 2023, in Austin, Texas. Cause of death is being described as a massive stroke-like event. Brent's physician determined his condition was a medical anomaly. His final resting place is next to his Hansen grandparents, Alan and Ruth Hansen, in Provo, Utah.
Brent was born on November 17, 1975, in Bakersfield, California. He was the oldest child born to Joel Allen Hollingsworth and Lisa Ann Hansen. Brent is survived by his children, Sydney, Dallin, and Bri Hollingsworth; his parents, Joel Hollingsworth (Melinda), Lisa Garrett (Scott); his siblings, Erin Burton (Marcus), Kara Smith (Tyson), Kevin Hollingsworth, Ashley Getz (Max), Alexis Johnson, Callie Mann (Noah); and grandmother, Clara LaRae Hollingsworth. Brent was preceded in death by brother, Trevor Hollingsworth, and grandfather, Homer John Hollingsworth.
Brent graduated from Brigham Young University, with a Bachelor of Science, in Computer Science, 2001; NTU School of Engineering, Walden University, Master of Science, Computer Science, 2005; Texas McCombs School of Business, MBA, Business, 2009.
Brent was a tenacious professional with strong technology skills, passion for business, and ambitions to change the world. He was Inspired by services which make a difference in the lives of people. Brent was fascinated by collaborative data systems which help businesses make better decisions. He was always looking for unsolved problems, new challenges, and opportunities to provide leadership.
Brent was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a teacher, a missionary in Asunción, Paraguay, ward Bishopric counselor, Stake Young Men's President, and Stake Executive Secretary.
Brent will always be remembered for his Faith in God, his joyful singing of church hymns, marathon running, scuba diving, camping, hiking, spontaneous dancing, and fully embracing his nerd status with enjoyment of Star Wars and Marvel series with his children. Brent was an Eagle Scout and a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate.
