Micaela Mijares Obituary
January 25, 1949 – June 6, 2025
Micaela Mijares, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and woman of deep faith, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 25, 1949, Micaela spent most of her early life in South Texas, where she raised a close-knit family rooted in love, strength, and resilience. In 1999, she moved to Austin, Texas, and made it her home-a place where her family continued to grow and thrive.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Carlos Mijares, and their three children: Carlos Lee Mijares, Rosann Green, and Brenda Contreras. Micaela was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren-Sebastian, Isabella, Micaela Contreras, and Lucas Green-each of whom carry a piece of her strength and spirit with them.
Micaela was a remarkable woman who instilled the values of education, hard work, and ambition in her children from an early age. Her encouragement laid the foundation for their successful careers in technology and leadership-rising to roles such as Vice President of Engineering, Principal Technical Program Manager, and Director of IT Support Services at top-tier companies.
Beyond being a mother, she played a central role in raising three of her grandchildren, deeply shaping their lives with her love, wisdom, and presence. Her family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. The home she built was filled with warmth, unity, and unwavering devotion.
Micaela had a vibrant spirit and zest for life. She loved beauty and fitness, always on the lookout for the perfect dress or pair of shoes. She was a woman of strong faith, devoted to prayer and her love for Jesus-a source of strength for her and those around her.
More than anything, Micaela was "Mom"-a title she carried with unmatched grace, purpose, and pride. Her words, her wisdom, and her unwavering love will continue to guide us. Her legacy lives on in all of us who were blessed to be loved by her.
We will miss her deeply. She will never be forgotten
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday, June 13th at the Harrell funeral home chapel of Dripping Springs. A rosary & Service will begin directly after at 2:00 PM Friday, June 13th, 2025
