VERY saddening to see this. I always thought of him because he was such a nice DR. He's been my family Dr since I was 8 years old. I never will forget walking into his practice across from the Deland hospital in that not so fancy spot. He helped when I got older in his Addiction Therapy role! He will forever be respected and remembered as a wonderful man/Dr. God bless him and his family.

I´m so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr Schlapper. When I moved here from ct I didn´t have a primary Dr and this was in 2016 he says to me you do now give her the papers to fill out.He not only was my Dr he was my friend he told me so many things to do when your sick with Covid like I was right away he sent the pharmacy medicine for me so the Covid wouldn´t get really bad.He taught me so many things to do for my husbands arthritis he was the best Dr I ever had. What Dr makes you feel like your best friends well he sure did it´s going to be so hard to find another Dr like him and he left no one hanging he sent out test messages of places to go but none like him.You will truly be missed.Thank you for all the years you helped me and I have one of the best cardiologist because of you.I send my condolences and prayers to his wife his sons and grandchildren my prayers are with you ,God Rest his soul

So sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Schlapper. I always enjoyed talking with him when he came to the office of his CPA, which is where I worked and had him as a client. Rest in Peace, Dr. Schlapper.

My husband and I are so sorry about the passing of Dr. Schlapper. He was my dr. From 2008-2024, and my husband dr. 2014-2024. He was more than a Dr. Appointment to us. He was a friend, a trusted man that was special to confide in and find guidance. He will be so missed by many many people. Sorry for the loss for his family. Our condolences. Dave and Lori Horning. Thank you for all the years you have given to us. Dr. Schlapper.

As a young adult, Dr. Schlapper became my 1st Primary Doctor and the perfect doctor for our little town. Such a kind gentle soul. We are saddened by his passing on and give our most sincere condolences to Nancy and family. May he fly high in Heaven and enjoy eternal life.

He was my Doctor 1st and then he hired me to work with this new DO coming to town to work with him. Dr. Bruce Rankin. I will always remember his humor. He told the story of hunting rats at the dump for his thesis on cataracts in rats. It was hilarious. He was caring and generous. Oh, the wonderful parties at his house. He was a wimp though when it came to having blood drawn or shots. Which I have done for him. "Are you going to hurt me?" he would say over and over before I would do it. He will be missed so much. He helped so many in this town. Glenda Gilbert
