Brett Bradley Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 2, 2025.
FORT COVINGTON - The family of Brett Patrick Bradley (Tehahkaro:rens) Wolf Clan, age 59, sadly announce that he passed into the Sky World on Friday, May 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Brett was born February 6, 1966, the son of the late Philip (Pat) Bradley and Dulcie White Bradley. He grew up in Akwesasne, NY, playing lacrosse, hockey, and swimming in the St Lawrence River.
Brett attended the St. Regis Mohawk School and was a 1985 graduate of Salmon River Central School, where he excelled in lacrosse. His love of the game took him to Hudson Valley Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a top scorer for the Akwesasne Jr B Team and the Valleyfield Dynamite. The highlight of his career in lacrosse was playing for the Iroquois Nationals, taking part in the World Games in Australia. While traveling with the Iroquois Nationals, he applied and was accepted as an extra in the movie The Last of the Mohicans. Those six weeks spent in Asheville, NC were great memories and fun times to share with friends.
Brett was a retired Iron Worker from Local 440, Utica. He was proud of the bridges, buildings, and wind towers he helped to erect. Brett loved to tell stories of his times working away and the people he met in NYC, NJ, MA, TN, OH, MI, and DE. Most of all, Brett enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his hobby farm, cooking, and gardening. He was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan and NY Rangers fan.
Brett is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 34 years, Meg McElwain-Bradley; his children Errolynn (Noah) Bero and Beaux Bradley, all of Bombay, and grandchildren Winter and Wade. His sisters, Adeline (John) Herne; Bonnie Bradley, and Bethe Bradley Lazore (Ernie Thompson); along with a brother, Barry (Jennifer) Bradley, goddaughter Branka Bradley, and many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews, all of Akwesasne.
The family takes great comfort knowing Brett is reunited with his mother, father, and brothers, Jr. Pat and Brandy. There surely is a wild party taking place with his best friend, Danny Jo Adams and his college roommates Phil and Woj.
Brett always wanted to be a pilot, flying high in the clouds, watching over us all.
Donations may be made in Brett's name to the Hope Lodge, Burlington, VT, where Brett and family spent many days and nights surrounded by their love and support.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jessica Cintolo-Gonzales and Dr. Hibba Rehmen, Michele Bosley, along with the oncology clinic nurses and Miller 5 Nurses at UVM.
A celebration of his life will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the American Legion Post 1479, Hogansburg.
