Brett James Freyou, born March 20, 1963, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 60.
Brett was a lifelong resident of New Iberia. A proud sugar cane Farmer for the past 45 years, he loved working on his farm. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. In his free time, he enjoyed going on cruises, and going fishing, and breeding Quarter Horses; but above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, any chance he could.
He is survived by his children, Justin Freyou (Destiny), Haileigh Hildreth (Josh), and Brice Freyou (Jordon); his dear grandchildren, Asher Theall, Greyson Freyou, Averie Hildreth, Hogun Sherman, Rome Sherman, and Gavin Sherman; his siblings, Clint Freyou (Donna), and Darren Freyou; and his lifelong friend, Paul Olivier, Jr.
Brett is preceded in death by his son, Jaret Freyou, and his parents, Lawrence and Wanda Freyou.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dennis "Lil Joe" Benoit, for his assistance with their father, as well as his loyal employees that helped the crop get harvested. It means so much to us.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Brett on Saturday, December 9th from 4-8PM at 1904 N Freyou Rd., in New Iberia, 70560.
Please share your condolences, kind words or fond memories with the family by leaving them a message in the online guest book below.
