Brett Allen Mehaffey, 35, of Largo, Florida formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Brett was born on July 2, 1989, in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Rona (Huff) Williamson and Craig Mehaffey.
He attended Barnesville High School and Belmont Technical College. He worked at several local coal mines before relocating to Florida. Brett enjoyed art and expressed himself through pencil art and writing songs and lyrics. His passion was working out and physical fitness. He loved the beach, being "tan", and wearing his "vans" to match every outfit.
In addition to his mother, Brett was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Richard Hyde; grandmother, Dixie Mehaffey; and step-father, Shane Williamson.
Brett is survived by his father, Craig (Jenny) Mehaffey; father figure, Darren Klies; brothers, Monty (Brooke) Huff and Dusty Klies; sister, Jessica Mehaffey; grandmother, Janice StClair (his "Big Gram"); grandfather, Lee Huff and Tom Mehaffey; great-grandmother, Miram Hyde (his "lil Gram"); Aunts, Renee Huff, Melissa (John) Wilhelm, Emilee (Tim) Potts, Lindee (Matt) Strauss; niece and nephews, Brodie and Marlow Huff, and Aubree Wade and Bryer Barr; his best friend, Jordan Ryan; and several other close family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11:00am with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In honor of Brett, everyone is encouraged to wear their Vans Footwear.
