Brian Don Berry, Sr., 81, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Fairmont, WV, Don lived and raised his family in Bridgeport before settling in Weirton, where he spent the last 20 years of his life enjoying retirement.
Don loved his family deeply and was happiest when spending time with them. He dedicated countless hours coaching his daughters, son, and grandson in sports such as soccer, baseball, softball, and football. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Don especially enjoyed golfing and fishing, which brought him both peace and joy. Among his favorite hobbies, Don love building train sets.
Don's education included a degree from Fairmont State College where he was in the TBI fraternity and Masters in Business Administration from West Virginia Wesleyan.
Professionally, Don built a long and successful career in banking, retiring as Senior Vice President at Chase Bank. Moreover, Don also worked as adjunct professor at Fairmont State University and West Virginia Northern Community College teaching business.
Don Volunteered and served as a member of the Kiwanis Club including a term as President. Following his retirement, he continued to share his leadership and enthusiasm as Director of Special Events at Lauttamus Communications.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Don served his country with honor through multiple assignments in Europe. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nellie Berry. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Ruggiero) Berry; his children Regina (John) Sobieray, Annie (Paul) Lauttamus, Christina (Adam) Pratt, and Brian (Samanta) Berry, Jr; and his cherished grandchildren Andrew and Ryan Sobieray; Carson Lauttamus, Helen and AJ Pratt; and Katherine, Madelyn, and Jonathan Berry.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 3 PM until 6 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held on Monday from 10 AM until 11 AM followed by a Funeral liturgy at 11:00 at the funeral home.
Rev. Fr. Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. will preside.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery in Weirton with military honors conducted by the West Virginia National Guard and the American Legion Post 10.
Don's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.
