JAYME "JAY" D. SPENCE, 65, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born November 13, 1959, in Weirton, he was the son of the late Daniel O. Spence and Janet Mary Ann Struzik Spence. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon "La-La" Spence; pets Cuwee, Maggie, Snickers, and Buddy.
Jay attended Franciscan University of Steubenville where he earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in microbiology. He was employed by Russell Nesbitt Services in Wheeling.
A former member of the Knights of Columbus in Weirton and a current member of the Polish Club in Fairpoint, Jay enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved watching movies and taking rides on his Harley-Davidson. Jay was also an exceptional cook and baker-best known for his delicious cabbage rolls and other Polish dishes. He took great joy in sharing photos of his culinary creations on Facebook, bringing smiles to all who followed his posts. His warmth, humor, and love of cooking will be deeply missed.
Jay is survived by his partner, Tom Leonard, Jr.; his beloved dog, Luke; and cousins, John, Christopher, and Heather Cottilli and their families, Kelly Holderman and family, Mary (Dick) Pederson and family.
In accordance with Jay's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton. Jay will be laid to rest with his grandparents, John and Mary Struzik, at St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton.
