Brian E. Breslin

Brian Breslin, age 61, passed away on March 1, 2026.

He was the beloved brother of James F. Breslin (Karen), John J. Breslin (Cindy), Marianne P. Makaila (Mark), and the late Cassie Dougherty (Dennis); and a loving uncle to Dennis, Ryan, Katie, Jim, Jennifer, Michael, Matthew, Sean, Heather, Caitlyn, Ryan, and the late Markie. Brian will be reunited with his loyal dog, Murphy.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Brian was the devoted son of the late James and Catherine Breslin. He was a graduate of Holy Ghost High School, Class of 1982, where he played soccer and ran cross country. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, graduating with the Class of 1987.

Brian had a long career with PECO while also owning and operating several Rita's Water Ice franchises. He was known for his intelligence, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Brian cherished fishing trips to Alaska and the time he spent collecting baseball cards with his father. Above all, he was a devoted family man who valued time with those he loved most.

Family and friends are invited to Brian's Life Celebration on Monday, March 9th, from 10:00–11:00 AM at John F. Givnish Funeral Home, Academy Road, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Brian's name to the SPCA.
