I first met Brian a few years ago while on a hunting trip in Wells. I was a new hunter in this area, sleeping in my tent and "roughing it". Passing each other we exchanged a friendly wave and immediately struck up a conversation. Brian was concerned about me roughing it and invited me to join him and Jeff by the fire for dinner.
He told me a ton of stories about his hunting adventures in the area and gave me advice on where to go and what to look for. Over the next couple years I began to look forward to camp dinners almost as much as the hunt itself.
He always enjoyed looking at the map with me while I showed him where I had hiked that day. He would get exited but teary eyed talking about the places I had seen that day, often saying he would never be able to walk to them again.
Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Leukemia this past summer and was unable to get to camp this year. When I broke the news to Brian he was very concerned for me but also very optimistic that we would share a campfire dinner again next year. We stayed in contact through the beginning of this season, it filled my heart to be updated on the hunting conditions.
You will be missed my friend.

Dear Bonnie and extended family. My heart felt condolences to you all. So I am a good friend of Brian's from visiting by the awesome camp fires he and his friend would have at the house next door. I cherished this time with Brian because he taught me so much about wildlife.
Brian, I was planning on coming up to see you and Whitney , raise our glasses in thanks for another successful year gone by. This time I raised my glass in honor and memory of you Brian.
