Brian Brumfield Obituary
Brian Lee Brumfield, 72, of Petersburg, Indiana passed away on July 13, 2024, at home after a nearly 5 year battle with cancer. Brian fought one hell of a fight, but in the end, the horrible disease took him.
Brian was born December 6, 1951 to the late Marion Brumfield and Grace (Kreisle) Brumfield.
He graduated in 1970 from Perry Central High School. He was a police officer for the Tell City Police Department before going to work at Maxon Marine and joining the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He graduated the apprenticeship program and went to work for Sterling Boiler and Mechanical, where he eventually worked his way up to a project manager's position. He retired from that position in 2006.
Brian loved playing golf, bowling, hunting, fishing, and in his later years also spending time on his houseboat on Lake Barkley. He was a very proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather, showing much love to all of his family.
Brian is survived by his 2 sons, Timothy (Robin) of Tell City, and Jeffrey (Jamie) of Magnet, Indiana; Brothers, Richard (Jana), Greg (Kim), Steve; Sisters, Diane Crow, Kate (Don) Hartley, and Beth (John) Hess. He is also survived by grandkids Destiny, Amber, Noah, Hannah, Jackson, Shane, Cassidy, Kristi, Blaze, and Brayden, along with 7 great grandkids, all of whom he adored.
Along with his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Harvey and Susan (Fernow) Brumfield, and Norman and Nelda (Huck) Kreisle; brother Dennis and his granddaughter Brittney Emerson.
Brian had asked to not have a funeral, but rather wanted to be cremated with a small memorial service for family at a later date. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
