Brian Cremin Obituary

Published by Tulsa World on Sep. 3, 2009.
CREMIN - Brian O'Day, born September 30, 1977, left this earth on August 31, 2009, This super nova of personality and love, passion and mirth, left all of us far too soon. He burst onto this earth and blazed a trail of light and creative talent that will long be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Margie (White) Cremin, his beloved sister Catherine, his treasured niece, Asia Brianna, and his very special nephews Atticus, Solomon, and Gideon, who will long celebrate their "Uncle B." He met and began a wonderful new life with the love of his life, Liz (Carner) Cremin, and his soon to be born daughter, the light of his entire being, Tristyn Marie O'Day Cremin. Brian announced to his world on his last day that he would forever now be known as "the father of Tristyn O'Day Cremin." He is also survived by his great uncle Monsignor James Halpine, endless uncles and aunts, more cousins who loved him as a brother than anyone could count, and his new family Christy, Aaron and Madison Carner. His innumerable friends and buddies will never see this world the same. His music lives on in CD's and the memories of those of us blessed to have known this genuine, incredible, special young man, who left all of us way before we were finished loving him. Brian graduated from Bishop Kelley in 1996, and attended St. John's University in New York to receive his certification in audio engineering. He was employed as a loving, caring psychological tech at Brookhaven Hospital, where he met and forever loved his precious Liz. Brian had an unbelievable heart! We will love you and think of all the joy you brought us each day for the rest of time, old pardner. Go with our love, we will all be waiting to see you again. We will remember his life at a rosary at Fitzgerald's Funeral Home at 7 p.m., Friday, where we can tell our favorite "SREAL" stories. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Cathedral on Saturday at 11 a.m. You may remember our Brian in lieu of flowers with a gift in his name to the MS Society, 4606 East 67th Street, Suite 103, Tulsa, OK 74136. Fitzgerald Funeral Service, The Ivy Chapel 585-1151 Brian O'Day Cremin

Dear Pat and Margie, I only learned of your loss today, in an email from Carol Weber Shrout. I am thinking of you and your lovely family. Your strength and humanity will see you through. And you will see Brian anew everyday in his daughter Tristyn.

Dearest Pat,
I just want to remind you, love, that I am here if there is any way I or The Tristesse Grief Center can help you, Margie and the family. I grieve with you the loss of your child and I celebrate with you the impending birth of his child, Tristyn. (Love the name.) I understand, as I know you and Margie do, the abundance of joy Brian must have felt in adopting that greatest of monikers -"father of Tristyn O'Day Cremin" - as deeply as I understand the devastating grief you must feel in the loss of your own precious child. My heart hurts for you both, and my prayers are with you in learning to live in his physical absence.
As for you, Brian O'Day Cremin, I can just hear you singing along with that wisest of your fellow band members, Yeats - “Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame!” Godspeed.

Pat, Margie, and Catherine,

i was so saddened to hear about Brian passing. I wish it hadn't been so long since I'd seen him, but I got a beautiful picture of the man he'd become when I googled him and looked at his myspace where i was touched to see among his other information, his acknowledgement of what his family meant to him, mentioning his mom, dad, sis, nieces & nephews, and his whole family, and how much they all meant to him. Then to see and hear how others have responded, I know the world lost one of the joys we have here on earth. But our loss is heaven's gain, and the day will come when we will reuinite with Brian and all those we love who have passed before us.
All my love and prayers to you, and for the repose of Brian's soul, may he rest in peace.

Dear Cremin Family;
I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Brian through my daughter, Carla-Rose. He was always so funny, sweet, thoughtful and had a smile for everyone! Carla-Rose was so excited to have moved just a few houses from Brian and Liz. His passing has had such a huge impact on so many people. It shows how much he touched everyone's life. That, is the greatest accomplishment any of us can hope for. I hear from my daughter what an awesome family Brian has...he was a testament to that. I can't imagine your pain and sorrow. May you find comfort in your wonderful memories.

Pat and Margie,
Having lost a child as well we know that it is not easy because our children are suppose to out live us. But know this, time will eventually lessen you grief and bring you understanding.

Our most sincere sympathies are with you and your family. You will be together once again. All will be well forever.

Dear Margie and Pat,
My sincere condolences at the loss of your beloved son, Brian.
I was so sad when I saw his obiit in the newspaper and not only said a prayer for his safe return to Our Father in heaven, but shed some tears as I remembered with great fondness the fun-filled year I taught him at IC as his Kindergarten teacher.
I pulled a few of those photos out and my tears turned to laughter because Brian was the life of my classroom!
I also remember the fun parties at your home where Brian directed me to the lower level to sign his "Wall of Shame" as he called it.
He was a bright and very intelligent person and always among "Top of Class" at IC.
I happened to see him again at a HS graduation party of a neighbor down my street and we spent some time that evening talking about IC.
My heart goes out to his wife too and I know with your loving support you will help her through this time.
I couldn't attend the services for Brian because I have my mom here with me and she can't be left alone.
I was with you in prayer and in spirit.
I lost my dear husband, Patrick to Lung Cancer that metastized to his brain July 17, '08.
I have some photos of Brian and Patrick at the IC Hoedown Carnival both in cowboy hats, boots, chaps, and toy guns and was reminded of the joy each brought to all they knew.
My prayer of comfort at this loss is that they are both in heaven playing "Cowboy Up."
Sincerely,
Marilyn Millberry(Dietsch)

Pat and Margie, there is nothing i can say to ease the pain of this loss. I think of Brian at 7th grade football practice and his hijinks and at Cremin parties and it makes me smile. That is what he did to people. I hope that you can get to that point where the crying turns into thoughts that make you smile.

Dear Pat and Margie,
I can't imagine your heartbreak and sense of loss. I'm sure it must be crushing.
There's an old saying, (probably Irish!) that "We are not meant to outlive our children". That's because it can break us into a million little pieces like a piece of fine crystal. It's just not the natural order of things, and we cannot possibly be prepared for it in any way, shape, or form. My heart goes out to you both.
If there is any solace to be found, let it be that he had the chance to find peace, contentment, and happiness before he left us. Hopefully that can be of some small comfort to you in these trying times.
Sincerely
Joe

Pat and Margie: While I was Hagedorn's assistant I loved watching Brian bebop his way through the office in front of my desk to go see his dad. He was so full of energy and would stop and chat with me about his music. He always made sure to poke his head into Frank's office to pay his respect. It is a great loss for us all and my heart is aching for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing the many lives he touched in his short time with us.
