Schilling Funeral HomePastor Brian Kenneth Deseno of Sterling, Illinois, entered into the presence of the Lord on August 18, 2025, at 1:01 a.m., surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 2, 1956, to Joseph and Evelyn Deseno, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
From a young age, Brian felt the Lord’s call to ministry, a calling that shaped his life’s work. On May 20, 1978, he married the love of his life, Katharine Loretta, and together they shared 47 blessed years. Their marriage was enriched by two children, Tony and Angela, and an abundance of love that extended through their family.
Brian faithfully pastored for 43 years, serving congregations at Calgary Deliverance Gospel Assembly, Sterling Full Gospel, and later overseeing ministries in Chippewa Falls and Cameron, Wisconsin. His passion for preaching, mentoring, and serving with compassion left an enduring impact on countless lives.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Katharine; his children, Tony and Angela; Natalie, mother of Tony’s children, six grandchildren: Anthony, Jason, Kobe, Jathaniel, Brenna, and Vinny, and five great-grandchildren: Nelson, Elaina, Elizabeth, Ellie, and Natalie. He is also survived by his brother Nicholas, sisters Roselle, Janet, and Aprile, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother, Phil.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Assembly, 3805 River Rd, Sterling, Illinois. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
