In loving memory of Brian Richard Doss, 45, of Belle, Missouri, who was born on May 19, 1980, in Jefferson City to Sandy Muir and James “Moose” Doss. On leaving this world, Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service that will continue to echo in the lives of all who knew him.

Brian graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast media. He went on to serve the people of Missouri through his work at the Department of Economic Development, where his dedication and creativity touched many lives.

On May 19, 2018, Brian married the love of his life, Kayci Jo Hoover Doss. Together they built a home filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Brett and Jude Doss, and a proud bonus dad to Charleigh Jo Elrod. His greatest happiness was found in the time he spent with his children and family.

Brian’s vibrant spirit shone through in everything he did. He bartended for many years, remembered not only for his skill but for the way he could light up a room with humor and warmth. His creativity found outlets in DJing, organizing parties at the VFW in his youth, and producing commercials during his time at Charter Communications. He had a passion for cooking and grilling, often preparing meals that brought people together—whether for family dinners, gatherings with friends, or community fundraisers. He had a love for the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed family vacations there and the beach.

Generous with his time and talents, Brian gave freely to others. He supported countless fundraisers and volunteered whenever there was a need. Even in the face of challenges, he carried an unstoppable positive attitude. His smile and laugh were gifts that brightened the lives of everyone around him. He was caring, compassionate, and selfless, with a wide circle of friends he considered family.

Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Muir; father, James Doss; brother, Shawn Doss; maternal grandfather, Richard Schneider; and paternal grandparents, James (Bill) Doss and Nettie Doss.

He is survived by his wife, Kayci Jo Doss; sons, Brett and Jude Elliott “Jed” Doss; bonus daughter, Charleigh Jo Elrod; a sister, Megan Wood maternal grandmother, Sharon Schneider, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Brian also leaves behind many close friends who he considered his family.

Brian will be remembered as funny, caring, compassionate, and a gifted cook. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity—a reminder that the simplest acts of kindness can leave the most lasting impact.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Belle/Bland Community Center in Belle. Shane Jarvis will be leading the service. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the service immediately following. His body will be cremated and a private graveside memorial be at a later time at the Old Bland Cemetery.
