I worked with Brian in our uncle bobs furniture factory since I was 8 years old. Brian treated me as brother. He was big brother I not have. Many memories. Great memories delivering furniture. He taught me to drive the trucks. We worked until I went to nyc. Correction dept, then NYPD, then as a firemen in da FDNY. He was a great man and brother to me. He used to buy me the latest clothes and leather jackets of the era. Always always always took care of me as a kid. I loved him as a big brother. Truly heartbroken hearing this news. My deepest sincere condolences to Patty all the children and grandchildren. Rest easy dear brother my FDNY brother too. Peace and serenity in our lord´s kingdom forever Brian.

To the family and friends of Brian. I'm sending my condolences. I Fritz as a young boy. I live at 257 Sherman St. Right across the street from where Brian lived. We had a lot of fun playing all the games we played in the streets as kids. Such great memories. I will never forget Brian. I thank him for his service. I was a year younger than Brian. We played basketball in the street after we put a basketball hoop on the telephone pole in front of Joe Torrillo's house. Also played in the fire hydrant on those hot summer days. May he live in eternal peace with those have gone before him. Rest in Peace Brian. Love you. Michael Simmons

Grew up with Brian (we never called him Brian, to the Boys of Sherman Street he was simply "Fritz", an unbelievable athlete and a no nonsense guy. We both attended Bishop Ford High School, but he was two years ahead of me. I remember Fritz playing baseball for Franklin Pierce College as a Pitcher. He loved his baseball cap with the letters F and P. When people asked what did those letters represent, he would casually say " Friendly Person " !! Last saw Brian in mid 1984 after not seeing him for quite some time when he married and made his way to Rockaway. He was getting ready to enter the FDNY Academy and needed some guidance. In all the years after both of us on the FDNY, we would unfortunately never see each other again. I always hoped that thru some happenstance we would cross paths again, but we didn´t. He will always be remembered in many ways. On behalf of the residents of Windsor Terrace Brooklyn, we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. Joe Torrillo
