Brian M. Flaherty, 78, of Seaside Park, NJ, passed away Memorial Day Monday, May 29, 2023.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, was a longtime resident of Florida and Seaside Park.
Brian attended St. Peter's Prep, Delbarton and the University of Vermont. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Jersey City State College and received his Teacher Certification from Nova University.
He was a teacher at Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, FL.
Brian served in the United States Army Combat Infantry during the Vietnam War.
He received Bronze Stars and Combat Infantry Badge.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Seaside Heights, NJ.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Anna McGovern Flaherty, a brother Sean Flaherty and a sister Patricia Cavaliere.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine Marino, and two sisters Kathleen Stein and Sioban Leahy.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June 6, 2023 2:00pm – 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park, NJ.
A Catholic Mass will be offered Monday, June 7, 2023 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Seaside Heights, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Dan Marino Foundation.

My heart is broken to hear the news of Brian passing. He was a
wonderful friend. Always kind and helpful to everyone. We will both miss him. Pete and Pat Kaligian

Brian was definitely one of the nicest gentlemen that I ever had the privilege to know . When asked what kind of person Brian was , I can only think of how I felt about him and that was he was a gentle soul a perfect gentleman and when talking to him I always felt relaxed .
