Garnett JoAnn Flaherty, 86, of White Oak, PA, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Braddock, PA, on August 19, 1939, Garnett was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Bosnak. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Flaherty and sister of the late Richard Bosnak.
Garnett was a woman of deep faith, community spirit, and devotion to her family. A proud member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701, where she dedicated herself to the Women's Auxillary. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Angela Merici Church, where she worked Bingo and found joy in the friendships she made there. Her hands were rarely still-whether crocheting, needlepointing, or crafting, she poured love and creativity into everything she made.
Above all, Garnett treasured her family. She found her greatest happiness in caring for and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was especially proud of her role as a grandmother and was happiest when babysitting or cheering on the many milestones in her family's lives.
She is survived by her children, Tina (Jason) DeNunzio and Kenneth Flaherty; and her beloved grandchildren, Ashton Flaherty, the late Devin Flaherty, Taryn (Greg) Seman, Jonathan Barbera, Kalynn (Sean) O'Connell, Christian Barbera, Breann Barbera, Jason DeNunzio, Jr., Brittyn DeNunzio, Jessica (Ian) Dukes, and Jennifer (Joshua) Russ. She also leaves behind 15 cherished great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love.
Garnett's kindness, warmth, and devotion will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
