Lisa Ann Bennett, 60, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at UPMC Washington, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who loved her.
Born on March 14, 1965, in Waynesburg, she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Sandra Tharp. A 1983 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, Lisa was known for her vibrant spirit and love of life.
On June 18, 1983, she married her soulmate, John Bennett, who survives. Together they built a life rooted in love and family, blessed with two children, Brian (Kelsie) Bennett of High Point, NC, and Elizabeth Bennett of Waynesburg. Lisa adored her six grandchildren-Coleman, Zaidyn, River, Kaitlyn, Daniel, and Liam-who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
She is also survived by her brothers, Todd and Jet Tharp of Jefferson, PA; sisters, Heidi Tharp of Jefferson and Tracy Sova of Kingwood, WV; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shelley Friday, with whom she now shares a joyful reunion.
While her health permitted, Lisa worked as a contractor with the Waynesburg Postal Service. She found joy in cheering for her beloved "Picksburg" Steelers and Pirates, tending to her garden, searching for treasures at flea markets, and celebrating Christmas with unmatched enthusiasm.
Lisa's presence was a gift-her wit, her spitfire personality, and her boundless love uplifted all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of laughter, love, and inspiration will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday Sept 14, 2025 at 2 PM at the WWJD Center 313 Jennings Ave. Waynesburg PA followed by a luncheon at West Sides 595 West High Street Waynesburg PA.
