Brian E. Fyffe, 50, of McArthur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. Born August 22, 1974, in Whittier, California, he was the son of Carolyn (Hicks) Fyffe and the late Dave “Coonta” Fyffe — a name and legacy that Brian carried forward in spirit if not always in form.

He shared over twenty years of partnership, including eleven years of marriage, with his wife and best friend, Marianne (Heiser) Fyffe, who survives him.

Brian grew up between Whittier, California and Wilmington, Ohio, a combination that perhaps explains both his laid-back attitude and his stubborn streak. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Brian served in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he developed an early taste for jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. After his service, he built a career as a skilled diesel mechanic at Penske Truck Leasing — a job that suited both his work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything that dared to break around him.

An avid outdoorsman, Brian could usually be found hunting, fishing, or just generally avoiding four walls whenever possible. He also enjoyed making moonshine — not just for the product, but for the process, the history, and, let’s be honest, the laughs that usually came along with it

Brian is survived by his wife, Marianne; his mother, Carolyn Fyffe; his in-laws, Jane and Bob Heiser Sr.; his brother, Bill (Monica) Fyffe; his sister, Tiffany (JR) Drozd; his sisters-in-law, Terri Heiser (Steve “George”) and Kathy (Jeremy) Profitt; and his brother-in-law, Bob (Jenny) Heiser Jr. He was a beloved uncle to Krysten (Cal) Stephenson, Ashley Noel (David), Billy Fyffe, Cassi Linville, Katie Profitt (Jacob), Sami (Tim) DiPerna, Ryan (Mallory) Profitt, Jacob Linville, Becca Heiser, and Luke Heiser, and a great-uncle to Aayden Lane, Owen Hicks, Madilynn Connell, Elijah Hoffmaster, Lincoln Hoffmaster, Kori Gray, Bella Chapman, Reygan DiPerna, and Lydia DiPerna. He leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, and a very special great-aunt, Winnie.

Brian also maintained a loyal circle of close friends who became family over the years, including Jeff (Lori) Hunt, Matt (Becky) Swartz, and Delbert (Tina) Fulton — not to mention the two cats who tolerated his company, Darkness and Mikey Fyffe, and the future service dog, General Chaos, who will now have some very big paw prints to fill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave “Coonta” Fyffe; his aunt, Dianna Gaskins; and two service dogs who served him as faithfully as any brother-in-arms, Bo Fyffe and Major Paine Fyffe — along with a host of dearly missed fur babies.

The family wishes to thank the organizations that meant so much to Brian and offered him both community and purpose: Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Camp4Heroes, Buckeye Hero Hunt, Courage & Sacrifice, Ohio Veterans Outdoors, Dan Fout Memorial Hunt, and the Virginia Hunt Club.

In keeping with Brian’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s memory can be made to Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, PO Box 1111, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 or online at www.aasp.vet
