Brian P. Granger, 42, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Born in Wilmington on August 8, 1981, Brian enjoyed a fun and memorable childhood being raised in Cleland Heights and Sherwood Park, attended and graduated from St. Elizabeth Elementary and High Schools (class of 1999) where he made many life-long friends. Brian was an accomplished athlete. He spent many hours on the baseball field playing all divisions of Little League, grade school and high school baseball. He excelled on the football field in both grade school and high school. In his sophomore year, he was on special teams, punt returner, defensive corner back, and running back on offense. Brian helped his teammates win the State Division II championship that year.
Brian began his barbering career cutting the hair of family members, his football teammates and friends in grade school and high school. He went onto mastering his trade and built a great reputation as a barber as well as entertaining a long list of consistently satisfied clients, many who became and remained close friends. He was known to many as "B".
Brian possessed a deep interest in art and music and enjoyed expressing himself through his tattoos. Always stylish and fashionable, he was often teased about his vast collection of shoes. He had a profound love for the beach. Brian had many memorable moments when he frequented Dewey Beach with his friends in younger years. In later years, he looked forward to the family's annual summer vacations also at Dewey Beach. Not to mistakenly call his vehicle a car, Brian enjoyed his "truck".
"B" was a loyal friend to many but above all, Brian was devoted to his family. He was a very loving and attentive son and brother and had developed an unbreakable bond with and a tremendous love for his nephews and nieces. Brian also had a very special love for his grandparents. "B" was a unique and endearing young man.
Brian is survived by his parents, Paul and Donna (Jaros) Granger; his brother, Adam Granger and wife, Kristen; and his sisters, Katie and Stephanie Granger. He was the VERY PROUD and dedicated uncle to Steffan, Shaun, Sylah, and Ava Jo Granger, Bella and AJ Synczyszyn.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, July 8 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. A Remembrance Service will begin at 12:00PM, immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery. In honor of Brian, the family encourages casual dress.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian may be made to the No Walls Church, Attention: Broken Beginnings, 7209 Lancaster Pike, Suite 4-307, Hockessin, DE 19707.
