Brian George Jones passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Beggs, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. He was born on May 31, 1952, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to the late Marvin Ophy Jones and SusaDale Purcell. Brian earned a bachelor's degree and became an entomologist, working as a USDA Livestock Inspector. Over the course of his career, he also worked for Jenks Public Schools, as well as with the USDA in Poteau and Stillwater, Oklahoma. Outside of his professional life, Brian enjoyed farming and caring for the family land that had been passed down to him. A proud alumni and devoted fan of Oklahoma State University, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Cowboys. His fascination with insects extended beyond his career, remaining a lifelong interest. In 1991, he also enjoyed the unique experience of dining at the famous "Big Texan Steak" in Amarillo, Texas. Brian was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Kalie Anderson-Michael and Cari Jones; his grandchildren, Taylyn Anderson, Penelope Gentry, Tucker Gentry, and Alec Anderson; one sister, Rosemary Horton-Sam; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Oak Grove Church in Edna, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Beggs Cemetery in Beggs, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
