Brian Francis Kenny, 76, passed away July 24, 2022, at Mountain View Center following a long illness. He was born July 3, 1946, in the Bronx, New York, to Frank and Dorothy (Gerrity) Kenny.
Brian was a graduate of St. Helena's High School in the Bronx in 1964. He worked full-time to put himself through college, graduating from Iona College in 1968. He majored in History, starting a life-long love of learning about, and sharing anything historical, but especially American history.
He met his future wife, Margaret McLoughlin, through mutual family friends in Thornwood, New York as a teenager and convinced his parents to visit as often as possible to see her. They married on June 8, 1968.
Brian started his career on Wall Street shortly after college, working his way from entry level to Senior Vice President before he and his family relocated to Vermont. After relocating, he tried his hand at several jobs before working as a corrections officer, which he continued until his retirement. In his younger years, he loved skiing with his children, boating in the waters off Long Island or in Lake Bomoseen, raising Irish Wolfhounds, and hunting. He was a true Yankees fan, with an impressive ability to call a base hit before the announcers.
He was predeceased by his parents and his identical twin brother, Barry J. Kenny, Sr. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years and their three children, Kelly Lazkani (Lawson Louie) of San Francisco, California, Brian T. Kenny (Sandra) of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and Erin McKee (Joe) of Poestenkill, New York, as well as nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Our Lady of Seven Dolars Catholic Church in Fair Haven, Vermont. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fair Haven.
