Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cargain Funeral Homes Inc. - Mahopac on Aug. 8, 2025.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Dominic DiRubbo, affectionately known as Joe on August 7, 2025. Born in Peekskill, NY, on May 14, 1963 to the late Dominic and Catherine (Nardiello) DiRubbo.
Joe's life was a tapestry of dedication, joy, and adventure. He was the beloved husband of Annette Estelle DiRubbo, who was the love of his life and his partner in every aspect. Joe also leaves behind his brother Mario, Mario's wife Linda and their children Julia and Sarah, and Joe's younger brother Phil. His loyalty to family was unwavering and their bonds were unbreakable. Adding to the family's joy was his Welsh Cardigan Corgi, Lexi, his cherished canine companion, who was always by his side.
Educated locally at Lakeland High School, Joe's thirst for knowledge and passion for learning led him to earn a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University after completing his initial studies at Iona College. His intellect and leadership skills shone brightly in his career, especially in his role as Underwriting Manager of North American Construction Property with AXA XL in New York City. His colleagues not only respected him for his work ethic but also for his camaraderie.
Joe's interests painted the picture of a man who lived life to the fullest. A passionate music enthusiast, Joe collected a large range of music and enjoyed sharing his favorite tunes and memories with friends. As an avid sports fan, he enthusiastically followed his favorite sports and teams. Together with Annette, Joe embraced traveling to many countries abroad and around the United States. His enthusiasm for exploring historic sites was only matched by his appreciation for culinary delights, making him a true foodie at heart.
Throughout his well-lived journey, Joe held close the belief that "family is not an important thing, it's everything".-a quote famously attributed to Michael J. Fox. This philosophy guided him through a life well-spent, enhancing the lives of those around him with love, laughter, and a profound sense of togetherness.
Joseph DiRubbo's legacy is one of love, passion, and an unwavering zest for life. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will live on through the countless stories and treasured moments shared by family and friends. Joe's journey on earth may have concluded, but the melodies of his life will resonate forever.
