Brian Lewis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 23, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian William Lewis, who departed this life on September 21st, 2025. Brian was born on January 31st, 1959 in Flint, Michigan. He was the beloved son of Charles and Marilyn Lewis, who preceded him in death.

Brian was the devoted husband to Jo Yvonne Lewis, whom he adored and shared 49 years of marriage. Together they built a loving family and raised three children; Melissa Dougherty (Buddy), Shannon Furbush (Daniel) and Ryan Lewis (Chrissy). He was a beloved grandfather and he adored his 6 grandchildren; Drew, JD, Patrick, Delaney, Austin and Chloe. He is survived by his brothers Michael, James, and Martin. As well as his large extended family who loved him dearly.

Brian "SuperBri" Lewis was a construction contractor by trade, but he was truly a "jack of all trades". He earned his nickname by helping his family, friends and neighbors with his ability to fix and build anything. His skills, willingness to help others and good nature touched so many lives.

Brian was an avid outdoorsman his whole life. He was a member of the Old Timers Hunting club, based in Crawfordville, GA, for over 30 years. He also enjoyed fishing with his family on the Bon Secour river at their home in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Brain will be remembered for his unwavering love of his family, his loyalty to his friends and the love and laughter brought to them all. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on October 4th between 12-2 at the home of Ryan and Chrissy Lewis, 3245 Heard Dr, Cumming Georgia 30040.

Yesterday

I think about Brian almost every time I'm in the shower. When a tree demolished my bathroom he helped us rebuild our house into our home. My favorite things around this house are tied with memories of B. I spent a lot of time watching Brian think while gazing at a wall or looking suspiciously at the IKEA parts I insisted on using. He was more than just a man and memories of him will never dull. I'm grateful to have known him.
