Brian Keith Linning, age 57, passed away peacefully in his home on April 4th, 2024 surrounded by family. He was a cherished son, loving husband, beloved father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brian was born on April 16th in Chicago, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend Taft High School and Oakton Community College and later became an entrepreneur starting his own IT consulting business of 30+ years, Linning Associates, and taking over the family business almost 21 years ago, Bark ‘N’ Town Pet Resort and Day Spa, with his wife Beverly.

Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. Brian served on the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce Board for many years to help promote local businesses and he put together multiple events for the community. He was honored to receive several awards over his career including the Pet Care Services Association’s International Award of Excellence, Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce’s Shining Star Award, and most recently the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He spoke locally and nationally on technology and co-authored the book 16 Strategies You Need to Know to Protect Your Business from Hackers.

Brian and Beverly shared nearly 29 years of marriage and 35 years of friendship. They shared a passion for entrepreneurship and supported each other in their growth both professionally and most importantly personally. Over the years they were able to enjoy many trips together, the most memorable being their trip to Manasota Keys Florida where they enjoyed a home directly on the water, took daily walks on the beach to watch the sunsets, and enjoyed incredible meals they cooked together.

But more than anything, Brian was a devoted father. He always shared his passion for cooking with his family. He filled their home with laughter and dad jokes. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favorite movies and shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Music was a passion of Brian’s that he shared with his children. He attended many concerts throughout his life, including 13 straight years of Middle School and High School band concerts, marching band performances, pep band performances, jazz band concerts and school musicals.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (nee Banks), and his children, Aubrey, Grace (Jason) LeClair, Maisy, Abigail, and their dogs, Maple and Mulberry. He is also survived by his father William (Sherry) Linning, mother Carol Linning, sister Sherry Bartz and sister Karen Gandy and her children Charlotte G and Daniel Gandy. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
