Poplar Bluff, Missouri has lost a treasured soul with the passing of Brian David Mansfield, affectionately known to many as Manny. On June 16, 2024, Brian too quickly left this world doing what he loved most: camping at Bull Shoals and spending time with family. Brian is leaving behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and a life rich in relationships and love.
Born on January 30, 1982, in Blytheville, Arkansas to David A. and Sandy Mansfield. Brian was a 2000 graduate of Caruthersville High School where his numerous scholastic and academic achievements served as a prelude to a career distinguished by tireless dedication and uncompromising excellence. Brian not only served as Pneumatic Tools and Parts Manager for Mid-Continent Steel and Wire, but was also a well-respected referee for MSHSAA Basketball
In 2013, Brian married the love of his life, Kristen Gore, and together, they built a family and a home that was a haven of love and laughter. Their union was blessed with one beautiful daughter, Kinlee Leann. Kinlee was the joy of Brian's life. Brian's role as a family man was one he cherished above all others.
Brian's life was rich with hobbies that spoke to his love for the great outdoors and the world of sports. Brian's love for St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Louisville Cardinals Basketball was unmatched by anyone and enjoyed his time playing softball for the Missouri MOfia. When not indulging in his hobbies or time with family, Brian could be found at church working on the security team, helping with Upward Basketball or volunteering in the children's ministry. As one could see, Brian took his charge as a member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff seriously. Additionally, Brian enjoyed cooking out for his family.
Sadly, Brian was predeceased by his father, David A. Mansfield, and his paternal grandparents, Harold and Jean Mansfield. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, Kristen, his daughter Kinlee, his adored fur baby Bex, his grandmother Ruth Peters, his mother Sandy, his brother Jason (Jenny), his father and mother-in Love JR and Connie Gore, his brother in love Jimmy (Stacy) Gore and his closest friend, Dave McCormack. Brian also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Brian was a legacy, and his absence will also be profoundly felt by a community of friends, church family, and colleagues who respected and admired him.
A visitation to honor Brian's cherished memory will be held on June 23, 2024. The family will be received at 4:00 pm and friends from 5:00-7:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 551 N. Westwood, Poplar Bluff, MO. A celebration of Brian's life will be held on June 24, 2024, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church. Brian will be laid to rest at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are those who shared in Brian's journey: Daniel Cowin, Chuck McClure, Jerry Wills, Charles Peterman, Brian Munson, and Jake Nicholson.
The memorial service will be led by Pastor Brandon Spain. Speakers who will share their memories and reflections on Brian's life include his beloved friend Dave McCormack and his brother, Jason Mansfield.
Brian's life was a beacon of how to live with purpose and love. He carried out the Great Commission to go and tell the world. Brian will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be a comfort to all who knew him.
