Brian R. McCabe
GUILDERLAND – Brian Robert McCabe, passed away suddenly on September 12, 2023.
Born on June 7, 1951, he was the loving and cherished son of the late Robert and Ruth Anne of Guilderland. He was predeceased by his brother Peter, daughter, Holly and sons Christopher and Matthew. Survivors include his wife, Lynda McCabe; devoted son, Tyson; grandchildren, Reagan Eva, Logan Robert, Kellen Christopher and Rory Steven McCabe; as well siblings, Tim and Linda, their spouses Bertie and Guy; daughters-in-law Lauren and Christine; and brothers-in-law Bill, John and his wife Cheri. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Brian was a graduate of Milne High School in Albany in 1969 and then attended Westminster College in Missouri for two years, becoming a Sigma Chi Fraternity member, a distinction he shares with his son Tyson.
Brian then returned to the Tri-State area to begin his lifelong passion as a tradesman and then General Contractor. Over his 50-year career, Brian built and renovated hundreds of homes and oversaw the successful development and completion of multiple sub-divisions. Brian loved to travel and was an avid fisherman, licensed boat captain and passionate member of the Lions Club. When not working, he loved spending time at his Lake house in Vermont and on the Hudson River at The Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club with friends and family.
The family will hold calling hours at the Babcock Funeral Home in Ravena on Sunday September 17, 2023 from 2 to 4 PM. A private graveside service will be held on Monday.
