Brian McGuire, 69, was born in New Haven, CT, to the late Joseph A. McGuire and Elizabeth McManus McGuire. A beloved husband to Susan, he passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted father to Patrick (Megan) and Erin (Olivia), and a proud grandfather to Seana, Molly, Ian, Mary, Sara, Madelyn, Glenn, Isaac, Gillian, Landon, and Liam.

He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Darryl) Hine, and was predeceased by his brother, Joseph A. McGuire, Jr.

Brian was an avid Pontiac GTO collector, gunsmith, patriot, family man, and friend with an amazing sense of humor. He could fix nearly anything with whatever he had on hand, and his unique way of approaching problems kept his spirit strong even during the hardest times. The pain he endured was a true testament to the strength of his character.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including service during Desert Storm. He was a dedicated member of the Ammo Veterans Association (AVA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the American Legion—organizations that reflected his deep love of country. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Skies Catholic Church at Nellis Air Force Base and a past member of the Milford Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps.

After retiring from the Air Force, Brian worked as lead security at Callville Bay Marina in Lake Mead National Park, where he was honored multiple times as Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Skies, Nellis Air Force Base, on January 12, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 13, 2026, at 11:20 am at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. Their compassion and commitment to his care far surpassed expectations.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to a veterans’ organization of your choice in memory of “General."
