Brian T. McHugh, 33, formerly of Providence, died on Friday July 19th at the Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He was the son of Thomas H. McHugh, formerly of Providence, and the late Maureen (Skelly) McHugh. Brian was a chef at several restaurants in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including Block Island and Newport, and loved his colleagues. He was always up for new adventures and spending time outdoors golfing, hiking and camping. Brian was such a caring person and you could always count on Brian to reach out with his infectious laugh and check in on family and friends. Besides his father, he leaves his sister: Jamie Renn, and her husband Daniel Renn, of Philadelphia, and his brother: Thomas H. McHugh, Jr., and his wife Angelica McHugh of Swansea. An amazing uncle, he adored his nephew and nieces, Daniel & Carson Renn, and Ciera & Hailey McHugh.
The funeral service will be held on Friday August 2, 2024 at 10:30 am @ St. Raymond's Church North Main St. Providence, RI 02906 with calling hours in the church beginning at 9:45 a.m. Burial to follow @ Swan Point Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.

To the family of Brian, I remember him as a young boy. We were Neighbors of his on the east side of Providence when he lived on 10th Street . He was good friends with my nephew Evan and they had so much fun hanging around together. He was always a joy to be around. He was so smart and funny. I am so sorry for your loss. He was so young and vital and it is a tragedy we are forced to bear. Please know he will forever be in our memories as the wonderful young man he grew up to be. God bless him and all of you during this difficult time. Wishing you peace, comfort, and love, Jane Haworth
