Brian P. McKinney

Brian McKinney, age 59, died on November 26, 2024.
Brian was born on August 7, 1965, in Cabool, MO, where he spent his formative years. Throughout his life, he held various jobs that allowed him to work outdoors, which was where he truly loved to be. He found joy in taking care of the greens on a golf course; not only did he enjoy the work, but he also had a passion for the sport and eagerly shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
In his spare time, Brian enjoyed fly fishing, playing golf, and riding his bike. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan long before they became a household name, always believing they would achieve great success one day. A gentle soul with a kind heart, Brian loved animals and his family, but his battle with depression unfortunately became overwhelming, leading him to isolate himself from the people who loved him in the last year of his life. Brian will be remembered for the person he was in the times of strength, not for what his illness created.
He is survived by his four siblings and one daughter, who all made every effort to support him throughout his life.
A private gathering will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
