Brian Merena Obituary
Brian A Merena, of Stratford, was born on 10/27/1946. Brian left his home state of Connecticut to pursue his dreams as a professional golfer in Florida; in the early 1980s, he made it to the PGA tour. He lived for golf, enjoying it whenever he could. He later worked for the Orlando Sentinel, retiring in 2008 after 15+ years on the job. Brian filled his free time cooking chicken cutlets and working on classic cars in the Florida sun. He loved his Beagle, "Daisey," spending all the time he could with her.
Brian is survived by his brother, John Daniel Merena of Bridgeport, and his sister, Marianne Merena, of Stratford, who was his caregiver for the past 18 months. His only son, J.B. Merena, of Massacuhasts; his three daughters, Danielle Merena of Orlando, FL; Deborah Eschmann of Woodbury Ct; and her husband, Steven, Jennifer Ferguson of Ridgefield, CT; and her husband Brian. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Brian is pre-deceased by his parents, John and AnnKlein Merena
A graveside service for Brian will take place on Wednesday, January 31st, at 11 am at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford. For travel directions or to sign his online guest register, please visit, www.LarsonFH.com.
