Brian K. Nielsen, 54, of Superior died Sunday June 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by his family. Brian was born in Superior on October 23, 1970, the son of Ralph and Charlotte (Britton) Nielsen. He graduated from Superior Senior High School with the class of 1988. Brian served his country in the US Army as a firefighter. Following his service, he worked for Manion's Wholesale for over 30 years. He married Jannette Milinkovich, and they celebrated 18 years of marriage. Brian loved being in nature. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed playing softball, watching movies and football, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed Jannette's cooking and smoking ribeye steaks every Sunday. Most important to him was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; maternal grandparents, Abraham and Irene Britton; paternal grandparents, Peter and Georgia Nielsen; niece, Stephanie McNaughton; and his canine companion and best friend, Thor. Brian is survived by his wife, Jannette; mom, Char Nielsen of Superior; children, Miranda Primus and Chance Nielsen both of Superior; granddaughter, Ivy Milinkovich; sisters, Linda McNaughton of Superior, Cathy Nielsen of Duluth, and Terri Nielsen of Superior; mother and father-in-law, Vickie and Tom Milinkovich of Superior; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held on Saturday July 19th with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Gary Banker as officiant.
