Port Leyden – Brian M. Romanchick, 56, a resident of Wildcat Road, Port Leyden, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, New Hartford.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Andrew Romanchick. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Alison Kiser, Port Leyden, whom he married on June 14, 1997; mother Maryann Normand, Boonville; sister Ladean Muller, Arvada, CO; brother Joseph Normand, Penfield; and several aunts, nephews and niece.
Brian was born in Wilkes Barre, PA and attended Fairport High School. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Political Science from the State University at Albany. After graduation, he was employed as a Disability Coordinator for the Denver Independent Living Center, Denver, CO. Subsequently, he served as a Disability Issues Liaison for the Office of the Governor of Colorado, Denver, CO. He relocated to Upstate New York in 2001.
Brian was an avid sports enthusiast, and a particular fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Mets. He followed both State and Federal politics as well as emerging information technology. He shared a love of cruising with his wife Alison, the Caribbean being a particular favorite. Brian was a devoted husband, brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an ardent dog lover, especially his beloved chow-shepherds, Brando and Cosmo.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 1 pm - 3 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St, Boonville with a service immediately following at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, 6390 Pine Grove Road, Glenfield.
