We said goodbye to Brian Shelly on Friday June 27, 2025. He was an amazingly talented man who could design, build and fix anything. Brian loved to tinker, he loved the outdoors, he loved to sing, he loved his family and he loved his community. He worked on huge industrial machines
to tiny clocks. He always had a way to make something better. He never threw anything away because he might need it later. If someone needed assistance with a project or needed something built, he was happy to help.
Brian was an active member of the community before illness slowed him down. His first volunteer job in Oak Harbor was at the Whidbey Playhouse He was also involved with Boy Scouts of America, American Cancer Society, Rotary, Deception Pass Foundation and others.
Brian was born in Seattle 82 years ago to Lorraine and Robert Shelly. He spent his teenage years in Belfair. He joined the Air Force at 17 and spent those 4 years in California. After his service Brian moved to Green Bay Wisconsin where he met his first wife Mary. They had 4 children, Brian, Laura, Barbara and Stephanie and they have 6 grandchildren. After their divorce he moved to Oak Harbor to be with his parents. While doing a play at the Whidbey Playhouse Brian met his wife Andra. They had 2 children, Adam and Emily. They have 3 grandchildren, Caleb, Riley and Ethan. Brian and Andra were happily married for 43 years. He will be greatly
missed.
At Brian's request, there will be no formal service.
