Brian Slama, age 69, of Winnebago, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 at Lakeview Methodist Health Services in Fairmont, Minnesota.

Brian was born June 19th, 1956 in Winnebago, Minnesota to Maurice and Audrey Slama. He attended and graduated from Winnebago High School and Saint Mary's University where he went on to be a city administrator for the City of Wheaton. On June 21st, 1980, Brian married his high school sweetheart Lori Owen. Brian and Lori made their home in Winnebago where Brian farmed and was an insurance adjuster for forty years. During that time, they were blessed with three children, Timothy, Amy, and Emily. Brian had a love for history, boating, golfing, playing chess, and aviation - earning his pilot's license and flying Piper Warrior single engine airplanes. Brian also enjoyed all Minnesota sports but especially liked watching and attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events, rarely missing a game, match, or recital. Road trips, time spent out at the farm, and summer family vacations to northern Minnesota were some of his favorite pastimes.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lori, of 45 years, of Winnebago. Son Dr. Timothy (Meaghan) Slama, of Fairmont, daughter Dr. Amy Slama, of Winnebago, and daughter Emily (Tanner) Nepp of Mapleton. Grandchildren Tyler, Allison, and Makenzie Slama, his furry grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Larry & MaryAnn Owen, and brother Dr. Michael Slama.

A private family memorial will be held, per his wishes, with Rev. Luke Stevens-Royer officiating. Lakeview Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the doctors and nurses for their loving care and kindness given to Brian and his family.
