Ronald SLAMA Obituary

August 26, 1940 - March 5, 2025

Ronald R. Slama was born August 26, 1940, to Shirley and Robert Slama in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He moved to Spokane in 1966 with his wife, Jan, and daughter, Neleigh. Two more daughters, Dori and Chyrran followed, delightfully sharing the same birthday.

Ron was a very accomplished musician, playing the accordion and drums. He performed with bands across the Spokane area, including the Davenport and Ridpath hotels, the Spokane House, and many others.

He worked many years as a county assessor in Spokane and Oregon. He married Cathy Vee in 1987. They enjoyed 35 years together going to running meets, county fairs, traveling to Disneyland, and attending church. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was ready to go see Him!

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley; his wife, Cathy; and his brother, Jerry. He is survived by his daughters, Neleigh Schuerch, Dori Slama, and Chyrran Omedo; his stepchildren, James Vee (Rana) and Antonia Vee; his sisters, Sylvia and Laura; and several grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 15, 1:00 pm, at Mountainview Assembly, 633 E. Magnesium Rd.
