Brian Keith Smith

Brian Keith Smith, age 58 of Homer, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 18th, 2024 in his home after a sudden illness.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brian was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Lee and Connie's parents Dilmus and Lee Clara Smith of Flowery Branch; maternal grandparents Herman and Stella Livingston of Iberia, Missouri and paternal grandparents Elburn and Waive Smith of Stafford, Kansas. Brian was also preceded in death by his favorite aunt and uncle, Ed and Holly Renfro of Olathe, Kansas.
Brian is survived by his mother, Beth Smith of Venice, Florida; his father and step-mother, Cary and Sharon Smith of Venice, Florida; his sister, Kari of Alvin, Texas; his brother Kenton and wife Amy Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, sister Jeanne and husband John Soos of Venice, Florida; and brother, Scott Henderson of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by his nieces, Brittany and Vivian and nephews Austin, Joey, Jason and Maxwell and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian was raised in Osage Beach, Missouri and moved to Georgia in the early 80's with his lifelong best friend, Jack Butler. Brian loved anything with wheels and worked on cars throughout his life, lately restoring classic cars. This love began with Tonka trunks and Hot Wheels and then proceeded to his first car, a Dodge Charger then a Firebird Trans Am and finally "Blue" his tricked-out Toyota pickup truck. Brian loved racing dragsters for several years with the Blanton Racing team at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce until the track closed. Those "track" friends were a blessing to him after he lost his wife and we are so thankful to them.
The biggest daily blessing and comfort after Connie passed was their cat, Casper that they had adopted from a shelter shortly before her death. Casper was Brian's constant loyal companion.
