MAJ Ret. USA Brian Joseph Sterner, 61, husband of Pamela Sue Turner Sterner, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born May 13, 1961, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Robert Charles Sterner and the late Mary Margaret Sweeney. Mr. Sterner retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf Wars. He was currently working as a Deputy Director with USARCENT.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 35 years include three children, Eric Sterner (Sara) of Petersburg, Virginia, Christian Sterner of Sumter, and Taylor Ann Sterner of New York, New York; two grandchildren, Kali Marie Foster, and Landen Sterner; five siblings, Coleen Dymond (Edward) of Virginia, Patrick Sterner and Shawn Sterner both of Bethlehem, and Maureen Sterner and Kathleen Gray (Chadd) both of the Poconos; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6 at St. Jude Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Giovannie Nunez, CRM. Inurnment, with full military honors, will be in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery Columbarium.
The family will receive friends at the graveside following the committal service.
