Brian S. Tracey, 61, of Deltona, Florida, passed away at home on November 4, 2025.
Brian spent the majority of his life in Syracuse, New York, before relocating to Deltona over four years ago to embrace the Florida sunshine and lifestyle. His circle of friends and acquaintances was wide and filled with love - including lifelong friends from SUNY Oswego, coworkers who became family, neighbors, and his "adopted" Guilfoil and Blackie families. Affectionately known as "31," Brian was always ready for a road trip, a "lunch," or a new adventure.
Brian had a deep love for dogs, especially those who were older and unwanted. Over the years, he adopted many senior German Shepherds, giving them the good life they deserved in their final years.
Even in difficult moments, Brian showed remarkable strength, humor, and optimism. He met life's challenges with grace, grit, and a perfectly timed eye roll. The world is undoubtedly a little less joyful without him - but so much brighter because he was in it.
Brian is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lori Ann Ross, and his beloved dogs, Tasha and Mina; parents, John and Julia Tracey of Syracuse, NY; siblings John Tracey, Michael (Veda) Tracey, and Michele (Tim) Indick; several nieces and nephews; in-laws Tracy (Robert) Rositano and their children, Diane Ross and Tom Gahagan, Sue Ross, Scott Ross, and Gina Bertolo.
There will be no formal services. Please celebrate Brian's life in your own way.
Donations in his memory may be made to Daytona Beach German Shepherd Rescue, 123 Creek Forest Lane, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, or via PayPal at [email protected].
