Brian Alan Whiteside, age 51, of Alvaton passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025 in his home. Brian was born on July 17, 1974 in Tampa, Florida to the late James "Jim" Whiteside and Donna Whiteside who survives.
Brian was co-owner of Marine Parts Warehouse with his brother, Chris, and together they expanded the family business their father had started when they were kids. Brian was a hard worker all around. If he wasn't on his computer trying to build the business, he was pulling weeds or trimming bushes around the house. He also had a playful side and loved adventure. Brian loved skateboarding, snowboarding, dirt biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking and collecting vintage Star Wars figures. Brian loved music and played the drums as well as guitar. Some of his favorite times were spent taking his family to Disney and traveling to Maine, which is where he grew up and visited almost every year.
Brian served as a deacon at Riverstone Church of Christ where he attended services with his family. He had a true servant's heart and was a friend to many. Brian lived his life to bring joy to others. He loved giving fist bumps to all the kids at church and knew them by name. Brian loved having meaningful relationships with those he cared about and had a gift for knowing what to say to others when they were struggling.
Some of Brian's greatest joys were spending time with his family, laying on the floor letting the grandkids jump on him, and watching his son, Braden, grow from a precious baby to a teenager who's taller than him now. Brian loved his family so much and would do anything to make them happy.
Along with Brian's father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Betty Whiteside and John and Mary Ann Grosskopf
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Jennifer Whiteside; his son, Braden Whiteside; his stepson, Andrew (Cassie) Cohron; his step-daughter, Ashlyn (Bryton) McGuire; four grandchildren: Rayleigh, Adley, Cooper, and Briggs; his brother, Chris (Anna) Whiteside and their children, Olivia, Cora, Quinn, and Daniel, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, many special friends and family members, and his beloved pets Spot and Rex
A Celebration of Brian's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel on Broadway. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until the time of service at Noon.
