1963 ~2023

Our beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather Brian Evard Wunderly returned to his Heavenly Father on February 1, 2023. He died from ALS, peacefully in a Hospice of the Valley unit in Surprise, Arizona. Brian was born on March 14, 1963. He was the eldest child of Evard Charles and Nodia Nelson Wunderly.

He attended Hillview Elementary, Granite Park Junior High and Granite High School. He earned his Eagle Scout. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico, Veracruz Mission. He continued his activity in church throughout his life by serving in several positions including teaching the gospel doctrine class and being in the Bishopric. He graduated from BYU and then went on to obtain a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He worked in the physical therapy field, mostly in home health care in Arizona and Alabama.

He enjoyed sports, especially BYU basketball and football, but watched and followed many other college games. He enjoyed playing card and board games with his family.

Brian married Melissa Dawn McCallister in 1986 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children: Alexa, Zachariah, Samuel, and Tristan. They were later divorced. Brian then married Brenda Thomas in Columbiana, Alabama in 2010. This marriage was later solemnized in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple in 2017.

Brian is survived by his wife Brenda, parents Evard and Nodia Wunderly, in-laws Russell A. and Shirley Lee, sister Wendy Wunderly, ex-wife Melissa, children Alexa (Michael) Coon, Zachariah (Rhiannon) Wunderly, Samuel (Elizabeth) Wunderly, Tristan (Anastasia) Wunderly, step-children Vanessa Franklin, Jennifer Larsen, Trista Whitler and Zachary (Tori) Walker. Grandchildren Luke Coon, Finn Wunderly, Atticus and Eleanor Wunderly, step-grandchildren Charity Thomas, Kaiden, Taylee and Liam Whitler and Charly Walker.

There will be a viewing on Friday, February 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home located at: 4760 S State St., Murray, UT 84107.

Services will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Hillview Ward chapel located at: 1361 East 4000 South, Millcreek, Utah 84124 with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 – 10:45am. Interment to follow at the Spring City Cemetery, at 3:00 pm.
