Stephen Duane Fowler

Stephen Duane Fowler, 58, of Clanton, Alabama passed away on March 10, 2026. He was surrounded by his wife, mother, two children, and other close family members.

Born on November 17, 1967, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, cousin, and uncle.

He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, charisma, and outgoing nature. Stephen was a kind soul and possessed the uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. He possessed a brilliant mind, disarming wit, and an empathetic heart.

Stephen graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science then went on to get a Doctor of Law degree from the Birmingham School of Law.

Stephen is survived by his wife Carla Fowler; his two children, Dakota Fowler and Ashley Fowler George; his mother, Andrea Fowler-Kee; his father, Ronald Fowler; stepfather, Robert Kee; his sister, Renee Fowler Boothe; granddaughter, Ella Overholser; nephew, Austin Boothe; niece, Alyssa Boothe Gentile; brother-in-law ,Wade Boothe; aunt, Beatrice Woodard; uncle, Donald Smith; and cousins, Brent Woodard, Channing Woodard, Cindy Smith Vance, Adam Smith, and Andy Smith.

Stephen was predeceased by grandfathers Calvin Fowler and Arthur Smith; grandmothers, Erna Mae Fowler and Cora Smith; and aunt, Augusta Kelly.

An intimate gathering of his close family members was held to remember and celebrate Stephen's life.
