Brice Long

Brice Long, 77, of Midland, passed away on November 30, 2025, at Novant Health in Matthews.

Born in Union County on May 22, 1948, Brice was one of nine children of Thomas and Margie Mullis Long. He grew up in Union County before moving to Midland, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and community. A graduate of Independence High School, Brice carried with him a love of music and dancing that brightened many gatherings.

Brice worked as a life insurance agent, a career that reflected his caring nature and his gift for connecting with people. Known for his social spirit, he enjoyed gardening and tending to plants, exercising and staying active, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He especially cherished summers at the beach-Myrtle Beach being his favorite-where he could soak up the sun and share joyful moments with family and friends. Above all, Brice treasured time with those he loved, and his presence was a source of warmth and laughter.

He is survived by his son, Marcus Long of Winston-Salem, and Marcus's children, Blake and Jordan Long; his daughter, Brittany Long of Atlanta, and her fiancé, Anthony Waller; and five siblings: Jesse Long, Hazel Davis, Annette (Barry) Kirkman, Rhonda (Glenn) Benton, and Wanda (Rick) Sharpe. Brice is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

No formal services are yet planned. Brice's family has entrusted their friends at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home with the privilege of caring for Brice and supporting them during this time.

Brice's legacy will live on in the love he shared, the joy he brought, and the memories held dear by all who knew him.
