Janette Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home on Feb. 7, 2026.
Janette Marie Roberts, 75, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the Heath Springs Residential Care Center in Heath Springs, South Carolina.

Born on March 6, 1950, in Bluefield, West Virginia, Janette was the daughter of Harry and Rose Marie Kadella Viers. Her family later moved to Elton, Maryland, where she grew up and graduated from Elton High School with the Class of 1968.

While working at the local Dairy Queen during her teenage years, Janette met a young man across the street-Cecil Roberts, who worked at the Texaco Station. Their friendship quickly grew into a love, and the two were married at Elton United Methodist Church. Together they welcomed one daughter, Michele, who remained the joy of Janette's life.

Janette built a remarkable 40-year career in the insurance industry, managing a State Farm office with dedication, professionalism, and a genuine care for the people she served. In 2016, she moved to Charlotte to be closer to family, embracing her new community with the same warmth she carried throughout her life.

Outside of work, Janette found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures-reading a good book, browsing her favorite shops, and watching figure skating, a pastime she adored. She was a woman of faith and lived her life as a devoted Christian, grounded in kindness, humility, and love.

In addition to Cecil and Michele, Janette is survived by her cherished grandson, Evan Abdon. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Carpenter; her niece, Natasha; and her nephew, Ronnie. She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends including her Alpine Village Senior Community family. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her nephew, Johnny.

Janette will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

As she desired, no formal services are planned.
