St George, Utah - Dr. Brice Neff Wilson, DDS, Col (Ret.) USAF, beloved patriarch of his family, passed away peacefully to join his beloved Carolyn on June 21, 2024, one day shy of his 98th birthday. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and unwavering faith.
Brice was born on June 22, 1926, in
Midway, Utah. Brice was the son of James Brigham Wilson, Jr. and Lota Eliza Huffaker Wilson. Brice graduated from Utah State University and Marquette University School of Dentistry. Also, from a young age, he exhibited a deep sense of duty and honor, which led him to serve in the Navy during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War, as well as active duty in all other conflicts. He retired in October 1984 after earning several commendations for his leadership including the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Cluster and Legion of Merit.
Brice married his wife, Carolyn, on February 24, 1951, and together they raised four children: Cynthia, Kathleen, Brice and Vance. Family was the cornerstone of Brice's life, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. His home was always open to family gatherings and celebrations, where his wit and wisdom brought joy to all.
In addition to his military service, Brice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, and he served in various capacities, including bishop, high counselor, home teacher, seminary teacher and gospel doctrine. He and Carolyn served three missions for the church, where they always sought to learn about the different cultures and traditions while also serving the Lord. He found great fulfillment in his church community, where he forged lifelong friendships and mentored many.
Brice was known for his kindness, generosity and unwavering integrity. He was a great storyteller and loved to perform cowboy poetry. He had a passion for woodworking and jewelry making and spent many hours building gifts for all family members, which they cherish.
Brice is survived by his children: Cynthia (Duane) Tanner, Kathleen (the late Steven) Anderson, Brice (Christie) Wilson and Vance (Angela) Wilson; 24 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 15 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Carolyn; son-in-law, Steven Anderson; granddaughter, Molly Anderson; great-granddaughter, McKinlee Wilson; and great great-granddaughter Ophelia Miner. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brice's legacy of love, service and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Midway Church, 1102 South Center Street,
